Many theories and beliefs, such as those about spirituality, do not resonate with me, but at the absolute least, there are lessons to be learnt from this entire creation. Her tale will inspire everyone to keep going and never give up in the face of adversity. Because her book was written in a compelling style, I was intrigued by her excellence in the writing process.

I love this book because the author did an excellent job buttressing the topic of PTSD. The author does not only share her experiences, but she also shares her steps to recovery, and this is quite thoughtful. Isolation, what PTSD victims crave, are moments of healing for them. Most people fail to understand the victims, which in turn delays the recovery.

The book is a shocking dissection and revelation of the rot and inadequacies of the mental health industry within the American healthcare system. The author shines a light on an industry largely hidden from scrutiny and a topic that most people shun. The bold content is informative and thought-provoking.

I picked this book for review with high expectations, and I’m happy to report that it surpassed my expectations. I haven’t read a book with so much insight into a topic as sensitive as mental illness. It was beautiful that this author wrote the book from her own experiences. That added so much authenticity to it. While some of her claims were direct attacks on the existing treatment systems, she managed to be so objective. I actually could not find a reason not to believe what she said despite thinking her opinions were quite strong.

I admired the author’s brutally honest portrayal of the industries involved. She’s also not afraid to tackle topics like religion, metaphysics, and spirituality. Every topic in the book has been meticulously researched. Every issue is covered in great depth, whether it be moral principles, the purpose of the soul, or philosophers’ perspectives. Through these explorations, the author succeeds in persuading the reader that PTSD is an existential crisis rather than a psychiatric disorder.

I admire the uniqueness of the book. It was written from the basis of the author’s experience as a PTSD patient. She relates the things that went through; the pain and the lessons that she learnt, and how her journey of healing. Writing this book was a way of helping those that might be going through the same thing. This is what I love most about the book. The author wrote things that PTSD patients can easily relate to and find helpful, not something based only on facts and head knowledge.

The book is very well-written, and as I said, it has been thoroughly researched. What I really like about it is how the author states her opinion firmly. She has written about how some medical professionals hide information about PTSD and urges everyone to ask as everyone should be informed about what they will be going through.

The book would be great for those who want to know more about PTSD therapy, and why most don’t work. You could also try the author’s methods on yourself but I choose to hold that they might not work on another person.

I couldn’t help but get captivated by the author’s varied approaches to healing PTSD. She goes against the “doctor knows best” fable that causes one to ignore the innermost self, where the solution lies. It blinds one to the need for isolation necessary to the PTSD healing process that those who hold sway over one’s life steadfastly refuse to grant. She also explains key terms and ideas that help the reader be more knowledgeable about PTSD. She does not fail to cite references that are aimed at provoking the reader’s perspective on mental health issues and services. Her healing process and survival story act as a beacon of hope for people battling PTSD.

The author’s writing style was highly detailed and you can tell that everything is well-researched. Her writing is eloquent and she uses many high-level vocabularies in her book. However, the author takes her time to explain and elaborate on each topic, which made even the more complex terminology easy to understand. The knowledge I gained from reading this book is tremendous.
